Hip Tendinitis

Hip tendinitis is a condition in which a single or multiple tendons that connect muscles to the hip bone are torn. Treatment

  • Taking sufficient rest is one of the best conservative treatment for hip tendonitis.
  • RICE protocol can also be the best treatment for the disease. RICE stands for rest, ice, compression, elevation.
  • Patients are recommended to use ice packs. It not only helps in pain relief that is associated to hip tendonitis but it also helps in reducing inflammation.
  • Patients should avoid activities that may aggravate the situation. This may help in speeding up the recovery process.
  • Patients should use anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen in order to reduce inflammation that is caused by aggravation of the disease.
  • Patients are recommended to opt for ultrasound therapy as well as sports massage. They may be effective in treating hip tendonitis.
  • In order to rehabilitate the tendon, strengthening is particularly important.
